Brod na Savi
Through the whole 18th century and the most of 19th, Brod na Savi was a town of small wooden houses covered by shingle or boards. The military authorities did not aloud the building houses of massive material, because the whole town was within the range of fortress, cannons. In the case of Turkish attack, the town should be demolished in order that the artillery has free space around the fortress. After the abolition of "Vojna Krajina" and the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brod na Savi was developing intensely, and the old wooden Brod was disappearing. For the introduction, these are some pictures of painter Vasilj Antipov.
This Antipov's image shows the corner of Gajeva Street, today's Petra Krešimira IV Street, the house of blacksmith Dorner.
